1966  » Monte Carlo Rally

When their Fiat was near the Cooperative Winery of Euzet, some six kilometers before Uzès, it suddenly left the road - on a straight stretch - and hit a tree at high speed. One of the two - it is unclear whether Pampyn or Taravilla - was killed at the spot; the other one passed away shortly later when being transported to a hospital in Alès. It was rumored that Pampyn may have fallen asleep at the wheel of the Fiat, which was completely destroyed in the crash.
