More like VOM bored...

Circuit will be ready to host the penultimate race of this season. I scrolled down for quite a long time and didn't see one single positive comment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCiNvuB56xg

Horrendous concrete tunnel like Vietnam. Formula e stuff

At least it's quick I suppose. And only for 1 year (supposedly)
The board equivalent of the Jody scheckter chicane. Fast but pointless

While some of the comments are gold, I agree that there will be very little overtaking. Track is too narrow and the turns are all at hi speed.

I hope to be forgiven by swimming against flow of current, but from my perspective layout looks promising. I like choosen development process as well. On this very rare occasion F1 is pressing all right buttons with me. If I had anything to do with such project, I would probably follow the same lines of thinking.

Mango as a reward fruit for the home team. (Brawn has done very little in recent years to please me, but this time he did well.)

I do have to ask...what is remotely promising about this?

Did you know that during the Formula E race in Saudi Arabia, a missile was intercepted and shot out of the sky? They don't believe it was intended to hit the FE track itself, but it was shot down over the same city:

F1 are pressing all the wrong buttons for me to even be in the country. We will witness the hypocrisy of how much F1 is doing for human rights and ponce around with all the "we race as one" shite...... and then go to Saudi and all its associated atrocities. Go figure. :annoyed: :aggro:

I knew I am swimming wrong way, but that's me. Missiles, Covid, excessive speed, jay-walking when crossing a street..way of life in F1.
I was talking about track potential from racing outlook. I have no political views of any value on the matter, but I rather suspect should we get too religious about it, strictly speaking, we might not find any totally clean place to race, and we should therefore just walk away from it all, and that is not going to happen.

Could be second Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve..? If drivers get stuck I waves , that could be a problem, but Brawn said, track will allow overtaking (I understand anywhere).

So 27 turns and the sims suggest it will be the second fastest circuit on the calendar, faster than all but Monza....

• Monza, Italy - 264.4km/h
• Jeddah Street Circuit, Saudi Arabia - 252.8km/h*
• Silverstone, Great Britain - 251.6km/h
• Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium - 249km/h
• Red Bull Ring, Austria - 247km/h

*Jeddah is Simulated speed

So that makes it the fastest ever 'street' circuit.... faster even than the old Spa public roads track.

• Jeddah Street Circuit, Saudi Arabia - 252.8 km/h*
• Spa-Francorchamps (14km of public roads), 244.7km/h
• Albert Park, Australia - 237.2 km/h
• Baku City Circuit, Azerbaijan - 215 km/h
• Marina Bay Street Circuit, Singapore - 189.8km/h
• Monaco - 171.2km/h
*Simulated speed

At 6.175km, Jeddah is the second longest circuit on the calendar after Spa-Francorchamps. Sadly unlike Spa Jeddah is flat as a witches tit.

Numbers from F1.com

I haven't taken much of a look.. bit it's not like all the other circuits that Tilke spits out and for that reason alone, I like it. Time will tell if it makes for good racing but variety brings unpredictability.

@Circuitmaster, agreed.

About the little overtaking potential, 'matters not to me.
A race is a race, green to checkered. Passing or no passing, a winner's still the first across the finish line.
Looks different and interesting so I'm game to wait and see. 'Holding judgement 'til then.
