Last year this track turned out to be quite the unexpected race with the new surface and the rain causing quite a mixed up qualifying session. Can Lance Stroll repeat his pole performance?
Ok, seriously... Showers are showing on the forecast again. The track organizers have prepped the surface in anticipation of improving the grip. And we may be looking at more engine changes through the field.
This should be another interesting qualy session!

We’ve seen so many odd things happening this year that I wouldn’t bat an eyelid if Lance does indeed take another pole.

I have a strong dislike for lottery qualifyings, GTP wise. It makes the game more about luck and less about skill and tactics. It's annoying.

It seems we have to be both skilled at predicting lap times and skilled at understanding weather accuracy.

I had put in a time for a wet quali, now I see it's more likely it will be dry, so I've changed it. I hope I did the right thing.

There's an art to the right GTP time in the wet.

If it stays dry, I'd like to think so I had a look at the times yesterday and was quietly confident. Of course if it rains I'll be miles out but what can you do?

For starters carry an umbrella around with you. Sods Law always makes it dry if I go out with a brolly and rain when I go out and forget to take one. Same with washing the car.... if I wash it it will suddenly rain from nowhere in the space of a couple of hours.
Same principle if I water the garden... It can be sunny and blue skies one minute and then thunderbolts and lightning from nowhere if I water things..

Washing the windows usually makes it rain for me There is a chance of showers this afternoon, I hope it stays dry but we're in the lap of the gods right now.

Oh and whenever I go out, there is always a brolly in my bag. If it's always there, you can never get caught out
