I said before Max now leads by 20 points.... I was one out, its only 19

Red Bull close to within a single point of Mercedes. I did not realise it was that close.Amazing what a difference Bottas not contributing anything this weekend makes.

Monza >> crash with Hamilton.
Brian Redman: "Mr. Fangio, how do you come so fast?" "More throttle, less brakes...."
If you take off 18 points for Lewis for his red flag fix at Imola, and 25 for his punting Max off, then add 7 for Max's puncture at Baku, and another 18 for Budapest, then Max would be about to win the title.
It's a pity F1 isn't fair, and Lewis is lucky.

This fastest lap guff really is nonsense. If nobody outside the top ten is allowed a point, they shouldn't be able to deprive someone in that t10 one either.
The board equivalent of the Jody scheckter chicane. Fast but pointless

The start was hilarious. Botty could hardly have made it easier for Max.
He's quick over short distances but he ain't a racing driver FFS
He certainly seemed to bail and brake early going into T1. Unless Max was extraordinarily lat on the brakes which I dont think he was (no lock ups and took a normal and non-compromised line through T1&2.)

Personally I would have given Bottas a bit of a go over the hit with Danny.... Bottas braked so early and allowed Danny up the inside and then just took the line that Danny was in. His bad first lap was totally self inflicted and it cost Merc and Danny any chance of a good result.

Yep, Bottas is a timid 9/10 driver in these situations. Always has been, always will be. And if he tries to go 10/10, you get Hungary. It's blatantly obvious his position in Mercedes all these years was totally at Lewis' behest so he wouldn't have a Rosberg situation again, but glad that will change next year.

By that stage he was trying to help Hamilton tbf. The major error was leaving space on the left

I haven't seen comments from Toto saying he closed down hammy? They surely just relate to the gap on the outside? Botty didn't deviate much from a straight line ahead. Didn't go anywhere near hammy

Well it was an epic start by Max and I was more than happy to see him sail by the two Mercedes. Bottas? Well, what can you say? He had a terrible day and I'm really not sure he wants to see his team mate win another championship, I'm with him on that one
Good drives by Gasly and Vettel and of course Perez did well to finish third, but my word if you got points for effort he'd have scored a few trying to get close to and by Hamilton. The crowd sure loved him and it's his first ever home podium, so good on him for that. Shame it was a 3rd and not a 2nd, but it's still a podium and he's doing everything Red Bull could ask of him.
