Guess the Pole 2021 - QATAR (Round 20) [+RESULTS]

#1

Post by XcraigX »

The third part of the 2021 Trippleheader is in QATAR. We venture to the Losail International Circuit for the first time with an F1 car. The race is planned for evening time under the lights (5 PM local time). So we can expect setting sun vistas similar to Bahrain. Qualifying will be at a similar time just to keep things even.

No experience on this track to understand the surface, tire wear or dominant car characteristics. Therefore the times are wide open! What do you think will influence the lap times? Will the Merc fresh engines continue to dominate here? Will RedBull relent and take a fresh engine also to give Max an extra boost? Get your guess in early as this will be a wild ride!

Free Practice 1 will be morning time at the track, so expect a GTP deadline similar to Euro continent races this weekend.

Is there any scientific basis for all of us revolving around the 1:21-1:23s? Or did someone just randomly type in 1:22 and everyone just went oh yeh let's make a guess somewhere around that time

JFK Jr. came back with the alien visitors in a flying saucer and told me times would be in the 1:22's.

I put in a time, had second thoughts and totally scuppered myself. I know I shouldn't change my mind, it almost never works out well when I do :(

Oh well, I have had a lot on my mind. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!

I had a 1:15 in mind first. Added 2 sec to it.

In Qatar, "None is greater than Alah", but @Mikosyko comes close with an amazing guess .973 seconds away from Lewis Hamilton's pole time of 1:20.827. None of us were close, but Mikosyko was closest! Great guess!

The full results:

Code: Select all

Pts	Error	Guess	Player
10	00.973	1:21.800	Mikosyko
6	01.673	1:22.500	MonteCristo
4	01.983	1:22.810	John
3	02.173	1:23.000	Picci
2	02.296	1:23.123	Mawerick
1	02.733	1:23.560	Downforce
0	02.923	1:23.750	xcraigx
0	03.061	1:23.888	Megallos
0	03.827	1:17.000	ErwinGreven
0	11.198	1:32.025	Minardi
0	13.945	1:34.772	Star
I completely second guessed myself and made my time slower of all things...

=============================================================
In the Accuracy Championship, MonteCristo gains a bit on the leader xcraigx

28.538	Mawerick
32.609	Picci
40.483	John
1:04.275	Mikosyko
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the points championship, Mawerick puts a few more points distance to his lead, but MonteCristo is now tied for 2nd with his great performance today. With 2 more races to go, this is going to be close!

Code: Select all

Pts	Player
71	Mawerick
65	xcraigx
65	MonteCristo
56	Mikosyko
52	Picci
49	Star
