It prevented Lewis stealing the fastest lap and gave ALO the podium so no complaint from me

Great damage limitation from Max. He needs to keep his nose clean from now on and hope he can keep the Merc's in check.

Without the penalty this could have been a very close race.. but the penalty was deserved so *shrug*

Reutemann also missed the '40 podium' by less than three months in Kyalami 1982.

Max might need only one.... maybe.

Well the Netflix dream would be Lewis to win the next one, with Max 2nd.... then with the two of them taking each other out in the season finale for Max to just squeak it..... and start the 2022 season with a grid penalty :haha: :haha:

Max was beaten in this race either way, I just hope Jeddah suits the Red Bull slightly more than the Mercedes.

I have no memory of the previous 10 Abu Dhabi GP, has that traditionally been a Mercedes circuit as well?

Mercedes won six races in a row in Yas Marina before Verstappen won there last year (when the championship was already decided anyway).

The championship is done bar a Lewis brain fart or Mercedes failure. We've not seen any of those because the car is too easy to drive

Christian Horner summoned to the stewards for slagging them off so much. Probably won’t shut him up, sadly but hey, Red Bull gives you whinge.

Feels to me that Merc will still be well on top in Jeddah.

More chance for max in Abu dabs

If the Jeddah track isn't ready on time, Abu Dhabi decider. A Lewis win and fastest lap with Max second would put them level on points, with Max having the most wins I believe?

Yes. Max has 9 wins and Lewis 7 as of after Qatar.

So your scenario playing out would have them at 9-8 in Max's favour for a 'tie-break'

The championship:

Hamilton wins:
1. If he wins the next two (most likely scenario).

Verstappen wins:
1. If he wins one of the next two, or
2. If he crashes out Hamilton in one race and places second in the other race.

And then there are mechanical issues, pit issues, penalties, and other drivers (which don't seem to be a factor).

Penalties aren't a factor. The Merc is so far clear.

The only thing that can thrown a spanner in the works is how much the Merc engine will drop off now.
