WRC Rallye CorsicaEvans was unlucky not to win in Corsica over the weekend, taking an eleven second lead into the final stage, before suffering a puncture and dropping to third overall.
Neuville, who had been a close challenger all rally, leading at times, picked up the win, from a recovering Ogier. Dani Sordo took fourth , despite final day brake problems, fending off Teemu Suninen by 6.2sec.
Ott Tänak completed the top six, unable to recover from yesterday afternoon’s puncture which cost the lead and a potential second victory of the season.
Esapekka Lappi and Sébastien Loeb were seventh and eighth, with Kris Meeke and Jari-Matti Latvala completing the leaderboard.
It is quite tight at the top of the championship now, with Neville Ogier and Tanak all covered by 5 points, and with Hyundai now leading the manufacturers.
Next round takes them to the gravel-road Xion Rally Argentina, based in Villa Carlos Paz on 25 - 28 April.
