Our pioneering project aims to identify and catalogue every crash photo in racing history. We cannot do it alone, so if you have any spare time, view this forum and sign up to help!
Great! What sort of project do you want to work with?
I'll prepare to get you access to the admin side of the database.
Cheers.
Most of my resources are Formula 1 and 'Grand Prix' racing pre-1950. I would fathom a guess that they would also include lower formulae series too (e.g. voiturette, f5000 etc.).
1977-1982
Gli Anni Delle Febbre
Gilles Villeneuve #27
I can throw my hat in and take up the lack of stock cars in the database.
I've been amassing various crashes (past and present) from the ARCA Racing Series in preperation; might be easier to tackle before jumping head-first into NASCAR.
I think at the very least it would require some sort of HTML knowledge. I have no idea what programme Dan King wrote the site in exactly, but I guess I can provide you direct FTP access and you can see if you can work it out
I'll set up something for you late this afternoon, I have to shoot out to University now I'm quite happy you've offered, the internet has needed this site to be updated for a good ten years!
I'll try to continue updating the database with the Fatal F1 crashes (WDC only).
Well... for "famous" crashes (like Bandini, Williamson, etc.) I'll have to add a lot of photos (about 40 of Bandini and 100 of Williamson... ).
Motorsportrace, don't bother adding all of those, please. Limit to the most significant 15 or so photos. I found over a dozen photos of Brian Henton's 1981 British GP practice crash, but it was only necessary to add 5 of them to the database. Any more, and people can find them here if they really want them.

So I should add the most important ones, right?
The start of the crash and some aftermath ones, for example?

Yup. So long as we have a good crash sequence from various angles. Are most of the photos of the wreck after the accident was over?

As a starting point, here are some projects that could be completed relatively quickly using photos we already have in Crash Photos:
- Fatal F1 Crashes (1950-)
- Fatal crashes involving F1 drivers in other races
- Scandinavian crashes (Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark)
- Dutch and Belgian circuits
- German crashes
- French crashes
- IndyCar/ChampCar crashes - Any decade: 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s or combination
- Notable crashes between 2005 to 2015
And one further project of importance:
- 'New' crashes. We need someone to keep track of crashes that occur in the present. There is still a month or so left on the 2015 motorsport calendar and for 2016 we'd like to keep the database updated with the latest crashes. Would someone like this responsibility?
Long time no see! I have a lot on my fb galleries and will send you a link tomorrow (cant do it on my phone) or you can look me up Kevin Butterfield on fb. Some may be on my blog too: wellnessracing.wordpress.com
