Just yesterday, we passed the 2000-entry threshold. We've come quite a way in less than a year and a half, and I have to say I'm glad to be one of the many fine folks contributing to the CPDB. Here's to 3000![cpdb] Current Projects

I've seen that the entries having "FIM Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix" as the series were too few.
I've changed them to the already existing "500cc World Championship", "250cc World Championship", etc.

I had to edit the Bergamonti entry: I didn't realize I posted an image form 1967 thinking it was from his fatal crash.
My mistake.
My mistake.

I have just revised all 'Unknown' series entries. Most were simply national races which were run say, once a year, but not part of any championship. I have therefore labelled these "non-championship".
I have also added details to some of the motorcycle fatalities, making sure that at least the class of each vehicle is listed (e.g. 600cc Superstocks, Supertwins, Supermotos etc.) even though many of those are also standalone races (e.g. North West 200).

Well done DJR, that's a stellar job you've done there I received a PM on another forum complimenting the thoroughness of the Daytona crashes a few weeks ago.

My next two projects will probably be Spa and then something "big" like Sebring, or non-fatal Le Mans crashes. I'm still in the process of adding new British, German and Monza crashes (etc.) which have appeared over the past three months.

Could everyone currently working on the database give me an update on what they are doing? Thanks!

Ok, I remembered that I recently received from @PTRACER admin rights, so I need to choose project to work. While I'm more special on Rally and Hillclimb fatalities, it seems that someone already doing this project, so maybe I'll try with Eastern European crashes and Argentinean fatalities (because my MM.org colleague Isbel Quiroz continues to provide me with photos which he had).
And maybe I'll correct some fatalities entries with help of My Heritage pages as well as French Death Index. For example:

Correct surname spelling - Mallaussene:

These three are indexed and awaiting some free time/energy for upload. I would like to do the Spa project, actually. I expect I will do the other two as well at some point.

Okay, one more project is complete! All crashes pre-1933 (and I mean all), excluding American Speedway crashes, are done
Some projects have overlapped, but these are the totals:
1890s - 6 non-USA + 1 USA
1900s - 66 non-USA + 8 USA
1910s - 17 non-USA + 35 USA
1920s - 100 non-USA + 24 USA
1930s - 172 non-USA + 44 USA
So, that's 473 crashes in total.
I already indexed all American speedway crashes until 1918, they are here: viewtopic.php?f=67&t=16421
I think working on those in the 1920s and 1930s will be really tough and it is not my area of interest at all, so I will leave that to someone else.

I've updated Simoncelli's entry (it contained watermarked AP photos, and I changed all of them):

It's a mistake from when we had no final rules as to which name goes in which category.Jacob wrote: ↑3 years agoWhy are Colin Edwards & Valentino Rossi listed as also involved?Motorsportrace wrote: ↑3 years ago I've updated Simoncelli's entry (it contained watermarked AP photos, and I changed all of them):

Well, we're past 6000 entries now! I wonder how many more we will end up with?
