Look at the chassis of the carbonized car, It has parallel tubes like the Chevron B16:

Yeah, looking at photos online I would say it is more like the Chevron B16 chassis than the Porsche.

Definitely two different fires. But perhaps due to the similar circumstances, searching for the one, yields info about the other, hence the joined topics. I have nothing right now.
