Torrential rain reported at Ballacraine. Roads will remain open, Session abandoned.
We'll hopefully can continue with tonight's scheduled session.

Sorry for all the delays so far, but there's not much more to report about

And here's the official statement regarding todays procedures
Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson has now cancelled this afternoon's Classic TT and Manx Grand Prix qualifying session due to rain around the course.

The schedule for this evening's qualifying session remains:

18.00 – Roads closed around the Course

18.20 – 19.10 CTT Superbike/ CTT Lightweight/ MGP Senior/ MGP Junior / (newcomers A)

19.15-20.00 CTT Senior/ CTT Junior/ MGP Lightweight/ MGP Ultra Lightweight(newcomers B)

21.00 – Roads open no later than 9pm
Not sure about the weather currently, though. Fingers crossed, it can go ahead :fingers:
What I know though, the organizers are in deep shit now. Newcomers, whether classic or mgp, have to complete five laps before being qualified, Qualifying times left out of the equation at this point. With the Classic Senior and the Classic Lightweight scheduled for tomorrow, there will be some more Qualifying needed before both races can go ahead. And the same goes for MGP Newcomers as they realistically only will have three more chances to qualify in one lap attempts each, with one group only just having two laps in and the other still remains at the guided lap from last Saturday.

Update from 5pm Manx Radio news. It looks quite good for Qualifying tonight as the roads are drying out. So roads will close in an hours time.

Meanwhile, a revised schedule for tomorrow has been released but I didn't get all details. I'll keep you posted ;)

Yes, sadly it is true.

RIP :rip:
Four-time Manx Grand Prix winner Alan 'Bud' Jackson has been killed during a practice for the Classic TT.

The 62-year-old from Kendal, Cumbria was involved in an accident during qualifying on Thursday night.

It happened at Creg Ny Baa during a Senior Classic TT session.

His death was confirmed by the Manx Motor Cycle Club, the event's organisers, on Friday night.

In a statement it said: "Alan was a very experienced competitor on the TT Mountain Course.

"He made his debut in the 1979 Manx Grand Prix and has four race wins to his name – the 1986 MGP Junior Race, the 1991 Classic Lightweight MGP, the 1995 Classic Lightweight MGP and the 1998 Classic Lightweight MGP as well as six other MGP podiums. He also competed in the TT Races and had a highest finish of fifth place in the 1990 Ultra Lightweight TT.

"The Manx Motor Cycle Club wishes to pass on their deepest sympathy to Alan’s wife Elaine, son Paul, daughter Emma and his other family members and friends."
