2019 Manx Grand Prix / Classic TT

The 2019 Manx GP went underway on Saturday with a speed controlled lap for newcomers but no more qualifying due to weather tucking in and a marshal reshuffle around the course.

First Qualifying then was cancelled and an emergency contigent put into place for Sunday. Unfortunately, a lack of marshals (word is 80+) meant another cancellation.
The first real qualifying session today had to be red flagged earlier for an incident at the Black Hut with one rider reported to be flown off to Noble's with leg injuries. Means the Newcomers are getting the thick end once more.
Joey Thompson reported to have a fallout with John Chapman and will not move any of the Chapman bikes. _From Suzuki camp there are news that Michael Dunlop will arrive on Wednesday only.

We are currently hoping for another speedcontrolled lap for the Newcomers but it doesn't look too well as the course has to be cleared from anyone stalled at the moment and the gate closes in 20min

A little update
The proposed speed controlled lap for the Newcomers had to be cancelled due to rain at Brandish.
Hopefully we can get going again at 18.20 local time (BST) tomorrow night

Tonights sessions had to be abandoned due to rain in several places. And tomorrows forecast doesn't look much better.

The rider who came off at the Black Hut last night was Mark Herbertson and has already received surgery for leg injuries. All the best for a full recovery!

As expected last nights Qualifying had to be cancelled due to severe bad weather from mid afternoon.
As an result todays emergency will be used. Roads Close from 12:30 local BST with the Qualifying to start from 13:00 BST. Manxradio AM is going to broadcast live at https://www.manxradio.com/radioplayer/am/. The old TTlive service has been discontinued and a new version has been launched at https://live.iomttraces.com/ but you still have to sign up to it. Manx GP TV also tries to go on air but if it works remains to be seen

See you later

Todays afternoon proposal had to be cancelled too.
However, https://www.manxradio.com/radioplayer/am/ is on air and announced a 25min delay to tonights proceedings.

And another 20min delay
New start time will be 19.05 local at the earliest

CoC Gary Thompson is unsure whether anything is going ahead at all

Another afternoon & evening session has been announced for tomorrow. Schedulewise like today . Roads close at 12.30 and Qualifying supposed to start from 13:00 until 16:30 . Roads open until 18:00 with a 18:20 start time. Sit and wait, not the easiest thing to do, really.

And cancelled again.

Just had the feeling a few minutes earlier when a mate sitting at Crosby pub texted me to tell that there's a shower

Untimed session from 19:35 now being announced and only treaded tires are allowed to leave pits

Obviously Manx GP Newcomers get the tough end again. What do expect the organizers, that they cut some slicks quickly?
I'm really starting being pissed here about it all.

Yesterday saw double sessions for Qualifying. There were some noteable achievements all around but the headlines made Dean Harrison following his off at Ballig.
In a post by his team Silicone Engineering it says that Dean brushed a wall at Ballig with his shoulder and managed to pull aside before being submitted to Noble's and to be kept in overnight. Apparently, his injuries are not severe but bad enough to rule him out from this fortnight.
All the very best, Dean

Yesterday saw the first two races of the 2019 Manx Grand Prix with victories for John McGuinness in the Classic Senior as well as the headline making return of Bruce Anstey to win the Classic Lightweight following a two year battle with cancer.

Unfortunately, the Senior Classic was red flagged on lap one following an incident at Ballaugh Bridge that claimed the life of Kiwi Chris Swallow. The 3 lap restart then saw McGuinness flying to victory
