2021 R12: IMS Big Machine Spiked Coolers Grand Prix

#1

Post by MonteCristo »

If you thought the Nasville Big Machine Music City Grand Prix was big, just wait for this weekend's Big Machine Spiked Coolers Grand Prix on the IMS road course!

Hopefully with at least half a dozen fewer safety cars and red flags.

But the big news is the grid size, folks.

28 cars!

Entry list: https://racer.com/wp-content/uploads/si ... c2-aug.pdf

Noteables include:
RC Enerson in the Top Gun entry.
Cody Ware returns.
As does Helio.
Christian Lundgaard makes his debut in the RLL third car.

Lastly:
Mongols? Hell yes.
Oscar Piastri in F1! Catch the fever! Vettel Hate Club. Life membership.

JoNew to take six-place grid penalty at IMS

Josef Newgarden will have to take a six-place grid penalty at this weekend's Indianapolis road course round after the Team Penske driver required an 'unapproved' engine change.
Good way to start your weekend.

Look at Lundgaard go!

And I know it's practice (I mean, Herta is 26th), but I would love to know what between the McLaughlin of rounds 1-5, and rounds 6-12.

O'Ward on pole. Lundgaard qualified 4th! :amazed:

Dixon had a spin which deleted his FL and he starts 26th.

What a great debut effort from Lundgaard, qualifying 4th behind only Pato Power and RoGro.

Scotty Mac seems to be on a run of mediocrity and excuses atm, and at this rate he will be behind JJ before long...... :dunno:

Felix best time was cancelled because of Dixon's spin, was faster than O'Ward until that point.

I find it very dumb that his time was nought because a car was stationary AFTER the timing line. :sarcasm:

Scott sent to the back for that move on Veekay. Fair enough too.
