Mika Salo looks like he's trying to get budget confirmed for a season in the Nationwide series in 2010. He would look to make his Sprint car debut in 2011.

At last, the long-awaited announcement is official Go Daddy is taking Danica Patrick to the NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2010. Danica will drive the #7 GoDaddy.com Chevy in a partial Nationwide schedule next season, plus one ARCA race. The Go Daddy Girl will be racing as a member of the JR Motorsports (JRM) team owned by Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Rick Hendrick, Kelley Earnhardt and Tony Eury, Jr. through 2011. "It's been a long time coming, but the stars finally aligned for me with Go Daddy and JRM," Danica said just before making her announcement. "I have always said I love to drive, and if I could make it work to race in both IndyCar and NASCAR with the right sponsor, like GoDaddy.com and the right team, like JRM then I'd love to drive in NASCAR!" Go Daddy CEO and Founder Bob Parsons introduced Danica today as she made it official with the unveiling of her new stock car in front of fans and media outside Chase Field in downtown Phoenix. Parsons and the Go Daddy Girl driver were flanked by the brand new bright green #7 GoDaddy.com Nationwide Chevy and the equally distinctive 2010 IndyCar at today's news conference. Go Daddy is leveraging its existing relationship with Earnhardt, Jr. who has also driven for Go Daddy in the Nationwide Series and will continue to work as a Go Daddy spokesperson. Danica's NASCAR races would take place before, after and in between her IndyCar schedule. Michael Andretti, owner of Danica's IndyCar team, Andretti Autosport, addressed that issue. "Danica and I are both working hard for a win at the Indianapolis 500 keeping the race schedules separate will help keep her focused," Andretti said. (GoDaddy.com PR), It was also announced that Tony Eury, Jr. would be her crew chief. See an image of the car on the #7 Nationwide Series paint scheme page.(12-8-2009)

Penske signs Addington to be #2 team's crew chief!

Source: www.nascar.com
MOORESVILLE, N.C. -- Penske Racing on Monday announced that Steve Addington will head up the No. 2 Dodge team beginning in 2010.

The 45-year-old Addington, who was crew chief for 12 Cup Series victories during the past two seasons, will team up with driver Kurt Busch, who is coming off a fourth-place finish in the 2009 series championship standings.

Addington"Steve Addington has a proven track record of success in NASCAR and we are excited to welcome him to Penske Racing," team owner Roger Penske said. "By adding Steve to the winning Miller Lite team and working closely with Kurt, we believe we have the combination in place to compete for a championship as we head into the 2010 season."

With extensive experience leading teams in the Nationwide Series, Addington first became a crew chief at the Cup Series level in 2005 with Joe Gibbs Racing. Addington was paired with Kurt's younger brother, Kyle Busch, at JGR in 2008.

"I am really looking forward to working with Penske Racing, Kurt Busch and the Miller Lite Dodge team," Addington said. "This a championship-caliber team with a great driver and with the resources and experience at Penske Racing, we have the opportunity to add to the team's success starting next season."
Brian Redman: "Mr. Fangio, how do you come so fast?" "More throttle, less brakes...."

Wouldn't it be something if Kurt ran better than Kyle with Addington? :haha:

Speaking of Kyle Busch, he'll be starting his own Truck Series team in 2010. He'll run part-time with Brian Ickler in the #18, and Tayler Malsam will drive the #56 truck.

Yea, I hope they find sponsorship for Benson soon though. He's one of the few guys that could challenge Hornaday on a weekly basis.

ESPN/ABC's coverage is gonna be more tolerable next year.

They announced that Marty Reid will replace Jerry Punch in the booth, Punch will return to pit-road duties (as he did in the pre-2007 era).

We're still screwed, Reid is just as bad.

I like Reid, he can create excitement as opposed to Punch who sounds like he's reading a death sentence even when cars are flipping. Bestwick would've been the best choice though, I don't know why they didn't put him as play-by-play guy. What a waste.

Punch was always 10/10 as pitroad reporter so hope he picks up where he left off in that role.

The Milwaukee Mile will not host a Nationwide or Truck race this year due to conflicts with the promoters, who went out of business earlier this year.

In it's place:
Nationwide Series going to Road America: Despite the demise of the Milwaukee Mile, NASCAR still plans to come to Wisconsin in 2010. Elkhart Lake's Road America -- arguably the best road course in the country -- will host the Nationwide Series on June 19, the date that had been held for the Mile. That will make for a road-racing doubleheader weekend for NASCAR, with the Sprint Cup Series in Sonoma, Calif. Stock cars aren't entirely new to RA. Tim Flock won in NASCAR's premier division in its only appearance in 1956. Lower divisions have competed at the track, including the defunct NASCAR Midwest Series in 2001, a race won by current Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series driver Paul Menard.(Milwaukee Journal Sentinel)(12-21-2009)
