Bottom post of the previous page:

His girlfriend says he bet her up, on the flip side he says she can't accept the end of their relationship and is stirring up shit, I've been around long enough to know what will happen.

But hey let's look at this objectively, the incident aparantly happened at Dover, months ago, but even as recently as this week she was tweeting about how she was at tracks to support Kurt, but you never saw them together in the pre-racd ceromies like you used to, and Kurt has been keeping a somewhat of a low profile...

I'll leave it up to you how you interpret that...

In other news someone forgot to top up the electric meter at Phoenix last night and the lights went off during the truck race, causing them to red flag and end it early.

Ryan Newman flat out kamikaze'd Kyle Larson on the final lap to steal the final transfer spot from Jeff Gordon.

That's the name of the game to get into this gimmicked-to-hell championship.

Would be epic fail if he went on to win the championship next week without winning a race.

Fuck me.

The cynical part of me wants Newman to win as it would be hilarious to see the fall out of a concept that no fan asked for. The most deserving would be Harvick and Logano, but I dislike both drivers immensely. Then there's Hamlin. Hmmm. Not sure about that.

Personally i would like to have Harvick to take the title. Without those chase rules he would have had one title already.
When it comes to dominating the season, Logano is by far the strongest of the last 4: Most wins, T5's, T10's.
When it comes to those chase debacle: Newman should win that title.. Preferably without a win at Homestead.
When it comes to the likeability: Hamlin.

HMS/SHR will pull out all the stops to make sure Newman doesn't win, that's for sure.

The only title I know that has been won without any wins was Dave Louden and the 1994 Dunlop Rover Turbo series. But that wasn't a National / Club'ish series and Louden performed brilliantly throughout the year. In 1995, he did indeed win races but not the title.

Nascar on the other hand, I find it hard to take something seriously that allows someone to win the title, who wouldn't under normal circumstances place in the top 10 or even 15 of the overall championship.

What Newman could prove is that no motorsports government (NASCAR/FIA/and so on..) can change the rules of the championship in such a manner that it gets a "likeable" outcome.

Does not matter how you look at it. Ryan was there when it mattered.

You mean indented into Kyle Larson's door? Pretty sure that's where Newman was when it mattered

I'm kidding obviously and I agree with you erwin. You've got to be in it to win it and that's what Newman has done throughout this Chase format.

How do you define "likeable"? The main goal behind it was not to benefit any particular driver but to keep it unpredictable and exciting till the final round is over and it's done that.

Well, Homestead is over, and the Sprint Cup has its 2014 champion.

Probably the most deserving of the four IMO. Chase hate aside, I'm satisfied with tonight's race.
