Tekno won't be expanding to two cars for this season as the Sydney team deal they were involved in has fallen apart. Apparently James Courtney has split with Tekno as well so they'll have to find a new driver or someone else to take over their entry as they've already locked themselves in for the season.

The NZ round has been moved to Hampton Downs because local laws have prevented them from racing at Pukehohe on ANZAC Day.

Tom Randle has had an operation for cancer, hopefully it's only just a scare.

Very young but as he says that form of cancer is fairly common with younger guys. Hopefully post op scans find nothing still around.
Wish him all the best for a full and speedy recovery

As expected, Walkinshaw Andretti United has confirmed that 2019 Super2 Series winner Bryce Fullwood will drive the #2 for the team this year. So Courtney wont be sneaking back there, unless he is eligible for a co drive enduro seat. (ie If His Tekno/Team Sydney full time gig falls over as rumoured he will be eligible for an enduro co-drive)
So, this Speedcafe graphic shows the changes from 2019 to 2020. Teanwise of vourse we have lost Garry Rogers Boost Mobile Team who called it a day, and have seen Kelly Racing go from a 4 car Nissan Ultima team to a 2 car Mustang one. Gains we have for 2020 is both MSR and Team 18 go from one car to two, and Brad Jones Racing goes from 3 to 4 cars

Whincup to retire this year??
Oh another driver future thought in the pipeline is that Whincup may retire from a full time seat at the end of 2020... he has said his decision will be made and announced before the opening round of this years VASC at Adelaide on Feb 20th.

Auto Action is now reporting that Team Sydney is all good, that Courtney will be driving for them (and has taken a management position at the team) and that they will be running a second car. I'm not sure what to believe at this point

Yeah they don’t call the publication sit fiction for nothing. I can believe the one car setup but unless they have someone for the second car with a fat wallet I can’t see a second car being viable. My Thoughts.

Sad to report that he has now issued an update that reports the cancer had already spread to other parts and the surgery did not get it all. He is now about to undergo intensive chemo.
The good news is that he has been cleared to line up in Super 2 at Adelaide. He will start the chemo straight after Adelaide.
I guess that will have implications on his ability to do other rounds but lets hope he is successful in his treatment.
Im sure you all join me in wishing Tom the very best for a full and speedy cure in his fight.

Jack LeBrocq has done just about nothing in two full seasons (19th & 22nd in points) and he gets the Tickford ride? Is the driver pool so shallow in Australia?

The Tekno car he had last year was a real shitbox and underfunded. I think he is better than his results showed. He has shone in other categories. He was also rookie of the year in his first year in the main game, driving a Nissan. He drove in Super 2 one year for Prodrive, now Tickford so he has a relationship with them. He also co-drove in enduros in 2016 with Cam Waters at Tickford finishing 4th at Bathurst.

He did get some decent results in 2018 driving for Tekno including a 5th at one race IIRC. Plus Tickford has a history of making interesting driver choices, in the last few years they've had washed up old guys (Jason Bright and Lee Holdsworth) and a fast young loose cannon who turned out to be a total disaster (Richie Stanaway).
Last year he didn't get any results but it's generally assumed that Tekno basically fell apart last year, they had Adrian Burgess and Campbell Little (who are very experienced and championship winning engineers) running the technical side of things in 2018 but they left the team for 2019. Then early in the year they were going to dump Le Brocq for Alex Rullo who was that really unqualified rich teenager who raced in 2017, and apparently there was a lot of tension between Le Brocq and Tekno because of that.

Premat will be sticking around the enduros after being replaced by Slade for this year, he is expected to head to Tickford.

Jack Perkins has also moved to Tickford for the enduros to partner Will Davison.

Tuned in for Daytona 500 and I just learned that Polish channel Motowizja will be showing the entire V8 Supercars season live starting next weekend. They had 60 mins highlight shows last season and I'd never expect them to broadcast the races live (also due to obvious time zone issue).
