And that's it. In other words not much of a change at all. However, the Trucks are going to a couple of new tracks, possibly South Boston, Myrtle Beach and Mid-Ohio. If they do, it would be awesome.[NASCAR] 2012 Season | Championship Weekend

Kurt Busch will be moving from Phoenix Racing to Furniture Row Racing (the #78) in 2013, replacing Regan Smith, who you might recall pulled off an upset victory in the Southern 500 at Darlington last season.
Rumors say Kurt could be in the car as soon as Charlotte in 3 weeks.

Montreal is off the Nationwide Series calendar in 2013.
According to sources, the promoter demanded NASCAR to not only hold a Cup race there, but run it as part of a doubleheader, with the Nationwide race run in the morning. NASCAR stood their ground and that was that.
The good news however is that NASCAR is looking to replace Montreal with another road course, with Mid-Ohio and Road Atlanta as the frontrunners.

In other good news, maybe, just maybe, this could get IndyCar to return there, perhaps.DaleJuniorFan wrote:Montreal is off the Nationwide Series calendar in 2013.

Talladega was, well, interesting.

typical pack racing, and it's not as if they are using those superspeedway cars again, so might as well send them out with a bang.
I am very sorry if you find my posts long and boring, I like to type and often go off on a tangent.

What a dreadful anti climax that ending was. I will bite my tongue and leave it at that.

3 cars in the main pack weren't involved in that accident. 3 cars. Easily one of the biggest accidents in NASCAR history, and that's saying something. Also in more light news, apparently the Roush Racing plane that took off from Talladega airport forgot to close its doors and all the luggage fell out.

Yeah, I'm too very disappointed at him. And too, how awesome wouldn't it have been if Michael Waltrip had won? Talk about an upset.

Earnhardt has been ruled out of the next two races due to a concussion sustained in last week's crash at Talladega, effectively ruling him out for the title.

Bummer. Thats one of the only NASCAR driver names I could name without reading them off a list! Oh and Mark Martin is another, along with Robbie Gordon who I know from following Dakar is also a NASCAR name.
I had already made up my mind I was over NASCAR for 2012 after that race last weekend. Very rarely I get angry over a race, but that was one where I was. I felt cheated out of any enjoyment, watching the cars that were seemingly trying to run around at the back of the field until the last 20 laps or something. And then to not even get a result, not one than bore any relation to the race form. Plus the sheer carnage, and cost of repairs, and the cases of human injury . Where is the fun in watching or taking part as a driver, heaven forbid. I just dont understand all the fuss about it. I
I did try and watch a few races this year in a bid to understand it more, but, other than one of the road course races which had a few racing bright spots in it I wont be converting to being a regular .

It'll be the first time since the 1979 Southern 500 that an Earnhardt won't start a Cup race.

I'm thinking of attending a NASCAR race next year. What would your advice be? How should I imagine the atmosphere and in how much is it different to F1?
I think any time should work out.
