Is anyone else getting a WordPress message saying someone is trying to use "brute force" to get into your account and requires you to unlock it? Never got it before. It's weird.
Obviously whoever's trying to get into my shit is failing miserably lol.
Just a one off but I logged in ok this morning but when I returned about lunch time couldnt get through at all. Just timed out. Couldnt access for probably an hour and a half, but just tried again and obviously all good as I am able to post this.
No problem but just thought I would mention it @PTRACER in case something is NQR.

Firstly this is NOT about the site being unreliable but rather than start a thread for an issue I am having thought here will do.
Problem is Im finding everything a bit slow.... for instance typing posts there is a slight delay before the character appears on screen. The snow is a bit juddery on screen. Click submit or try to highlight something and a slight delay. Its on my laptop and my PC and is only something that is happening here at TFL. It has only been noticeable today.
On my (Apple) Laptop there is nothing taking abnormal resources (nothing with high % of CPU) on the "Activity Monitor". Havent got dozens of Apps running or loads of tabs open in Chrome.
I have tried restarting computers, deleting cookies etc and still it is happening. Maybe its an ISP problem at my end.... but its only happening here.
Any ideas ? Or anyone else having problems?

I don't experience any problems at the moment. Wonder if the "snow-effect" slows down some browsers.
Arent Christmas decorations meant to be down by today? Bad luck if they arent according to folklore / Mothers.
My slowing in terms of the website doesnt seem so bad atm, but the snowflakes are still juddering.
Re browsers I use Chrome on my Apple Laptop and Windows PC.
I will try running a speedtest see if the ISP is running slow.
Edit: Its normal (for Aust NBN anyway). Slow to most of you but what we get here unless you pay a premium. 55mb/s down and 20mb/s up.

@PTRACER. Im still having slow running issues here (at TFL only) as above. Any ideas. Sometimes it is worse than others. It seems to be noticeable when writing posts, particularly posts when adding links to pics or adding image tags, YT tags etc.
Other sites where I might be doing similar functions absolutely no problems. Just TFL.

Hmmmm ok maybe it is a Chrome issue with the forum. I just downloaded Firefox onto my Macbook Pro laptop and the snow is faster. It seems faster in keyboard response time as well. No delays, and I press a key and the letter it immediately appears in the posting area which is or was an area of delay with Chrome..
I wonder if it is a problem with the latest version of Chrome. It could be it has only slowed on Chrome since the latest update.
@Michael Ferner do you use Chrome?

If it's working okay for you on Firefox, I would assume it's some kind of Chrome issue. Different browsers seem to have assorted problems with various sites, they can't seem to all work well everywhere for some reason.
Hey Chris, sorry for the delayed reply. Actually, the snowstorm uses a javascript which is known to cause 'performance' issues on certain PCs. My PC is a high end gaming PC so I don't notice any difference, but a regular office PC might be affected. I just turned off the snow now so let me know if the performance improves!
Im on my Windows PC now and I have been getting a lot of "Page unresponsive" errors with the wait or exit option.. Literally 4 times in the last 5 pages I opened here. I usually wait and within 30 secs its ok, but then the next page I go to open (I opened two threads in this Problems area one after the other and they both came up unresponsive. Then after 15 secs or so ok.
My Laptop seems to have improved no end running it on Firefox and not Chrome. This PC is still on Chrome.
Edit: Im just going to install Firefox on the PC see if that helps.

I have closed Chrome installed Firebox and I have managed to navigate around the forum at seemingly normal (ie not slow) speed, and not yet had one unresponsive page.
Maybe I will run Firefox for here on a permanent basis from now.
