Is he alright?
Just realised that the contract with Red Bull isn't exactly what he thought it was.

Memories of an oldtimer and his view on racing as we have it.

Ramirez:
“I do not understand the fact that now the FIA does not accept a racing incident. We’re talking about motor racing. A driver at the front who doesn’t want to be overtaken, and a guy behind him wanting to overtake. There’s going to be a crash.
https://www.grandprix247.com/2024/02/12 ... d-the-fia/

I nominate Jo Ramirez for (FiA) president, whether he wants it, or not. His first job: restore GP racing back to its former glory.

Alonso...
Big annoyance at too-short testing period in Formula 1: 'It's unfair'
https://www.gpblog.com/en/news/259791/b ... nfair.html

Every year this comes up. Hard to comprehend regulatory intent. The teams have untested new racer on the track for a few hours, and in a few days later they are mandated to kick off a racing season. So, when they get time for making changes (if needed), based on what they learned during this short outing? (Alpine, Mercedes - just to name two.)

The grid might be tight this season. Certainly it's easier to copy RB and several teams seems to have done. Closing the gap to Max in just matter of months, something that was not possible to accomplish with Mercedes hybrid PU in 2014. Wide gap in equipment performance ultimately gifted Hamilton with easy going free, uncontested pass onto podium for next several years. I hope Max will confirm that he is for real true blue genuine GOAT, as Gerhard Berger said.

YES, YES, 100x YES!

I say this over and over, and Hamilton fans just abuse me whenever I say it.

Engine - hidden, secret, years of development.
Aero - visible, photographed constantly, weeks of development.

Mercedes had a 3 year head start, and it took 5 years to get parity, and that was through cheating (Ferrari!), and 8 years to beat them.

Apparently Red Bull's advantage right now is harder to close than the Merc Hybrid PU advantage to those idiots in CultLH

Not to mention the engine development token system they had for a few years.

Awful.

City of Osaka is considering to carry second F1 race in Japan. I like beautiful Kansai region and wish them well, despite it is not certain Liberty will go for it. I still think that 24 races per season are too many. Subject has been discussed on this forum already, so I leave it at that. 20 races on rotation would be probably a good solution for me.

For all those who suggested to dump Monaco off the calendar because we have much better LV should first read this:
Is the future of the Las Vegas Grand Prix uncertain? 'There is no contract'
Kada Sarkozi, Editor

After much commotion, the Las Vegas Grand Prix full of glitz and glamour took place for the first time last year. The deal to host a race there was supposedly set for three years. Now it has only come out that no contract was ever officially signed.

Thank God for that, Ditch it already. My understanding is Las Vegas were not too enthusiastic either and few of their expectations were met.

I don't know but maybe we now need a LGBTQ F1 thread: https://www.msn.com/en-us/movies/news/c ... c08f&ei=24

Anyhow, I guess LeClerc is now going to do a Hamilton (raise a political/social issue as part of F1).

Please NO! We have enough stuff about this elsewhere, can't we keep it out of F1? :amazed:

He also made an album. Seems like LeClerc has been Hamilton's protege all along.

Yes, 2025 could be the start of a beautiful relationship between soul mates Le Clerc and Hamilton.
