Saw the original Tower of Power a few times, the were a lot better live then on vinyl.
And the origninal Springsteen was much closer to Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes ;)

By the time I saw Southside Johnny ... well maybe they'd grown 'old and rich and fat' or maybe they were just having an off night ...

Of course Willy DeVille should have been as big as Springsteen! He's still touring, mad as paint and twice as funky evil! Mink DeVille were my personal favourite of the late '70s.
